In 1992, Korean American business owners made news headlines after taking up arms to defend their stores during the Los Angeles Riots. History remembers them as the Rooftop Koreans.

Decades later, Korean American shop owner Ernest Gwon is forced to kill a violent attacker in self defense. When outrage erupts across Los Angeles and riots spread through the city, local businesses once again find themselves under siege.

As violence spreads and law and order begin to break down, Ernest must fight to protect his family, his livelihood, and his community.

His actions will inspire a new generation of Korean American business owners to take a stand, ushering in the Return of the Rooftop Koreans.

Inspired by the true story of the Rooftop Koreans, Return of the Rooftop Koreans is a present day tale of courage, sacrifice, and standing your ground when there’s nowhere left to run.
